An Illuminated Voyage
On Venus square Neptune, and Dreams
Each night dreams pound on the roofs of our lives like stars tearing up the darkness within us. They speak a language improvised just for us as they provoke and whisper, and warn and even threaten in order to awaken us from the sleep of our common lives. They burn with information about the way our soul would incline us to go. They flicker in the soul's labyrinth and intensify when we approach major turning points. Our dreams are the nightly evidence that we remain part of the great dramatic pageant that the soul requires; for each soul is extravagant when it dreams.
Those words come from Michael Meade. If they don’t illuminate at least a crevice of the darkness within you, perhaps read it again. It is true, the soul is extravagant when it dreams; it’s just such a shame we often forget-not just our recall, but we can forget to dream in the first place. Today, Venus and Neptune give us a reminder of the current state of our dreaming. They are square to one another, and both have a major role to play in the coming months as we move into 2022.
Venus is nearing her final chapter as an evening star. Soon she will station (Dec 19th) and begin her long sojourn through the underneath, making pacts with Capricorn creatures as her new cycle begins anew. She is currently in Sag, and like mentioned above, is square to Neptune today. Rudhyar calls this waning square a Crisis in Consciousness. I believe we can spot that fairly easily in the world, but how is it manifesting within us? Locating Sag and Pisces in your chart will help you to begin answering that question.
As far as Neptune is concerned, we are all quite used to the feeling of being out to sea with all that’s going on. We find ourselves often saying: It’s unbelievable! I’m can’t believe this is happening! I’m so confused, I have no idea what is going on….etc etc etc. We have been on this voyage since 2011 and will remain on this ship until the middle of the decade. Clear skies never made a good sailor, as they say.
So with the two at odds with each other, we must search for how our lives are at odds with our dreams. How close are we to living them? Maybe we are already, yet it’s become a nightmare or led us astray. Whatever the case, the Goddess of the West is our guiding light on this journey. Ask her what you’ve lost, and there will soon be a beautiful answer.
