An Ode to Aquarius
(Moon/Saturn ingress together)
There’s a quote I recently used in a class by Naval Ravikant that got me in some trouble, so I’m going to use it again here: “Individuals search for Truth, groups search for consensus.” It’s not to say groups don’t search for truth either, it’s just that they never can find it without it being relative and without compromise. Only the individual can experience Truth. It can happen in a group, but it cannot be transmitted equally throughout it. When it’s attempted, this is where cults form, and the madness of crowds springs forth. And when it comes to the Aquarian Age, there will never be any consensus around this either. Are we in it? Is it coming on the Solstice, with the Great Conjunction? Or are we still 200 years away? Only you can determine the truth of this question for yourself.
What is a fact though, is both the Moon and Saturn moved into Aquarius today. The Moon will remain for 2.5 days, Saturn for 2.5 years (roughly). This micro/macro correlation between the inner and outer spheres of Aristotle’s cosmos is revealing. With the Moon, we are reflecting on our own relative and subjective experience; With Saturn, we are dealing with sturdier realities, ones we can all relate to, and even measure. Seen from an altitude high enough to encompass the big picture, we become witness to a world utterly divided. The Red King never needed to finish ‘the wall,’ we built it ourselves. A higher perspective is required to reveal the union between sides. It’s all within one circle. One beautiful pale blue dot in space.
Here’s what Jung says of this transition we are in, “ … the approach of the next Platonic month, namely Aquarius, will constellate the problem of the union of opposites. It will then no longer be possible to write off evil as the mere privation of good; its real existence will have to be recognized. This problem can be solved only by the individual human being, via his experience of the living spirit, whose fire was handed onward into the future….”
Coincidentia Oppositorum! The paradox of two. And…the Unity of Opposites. This is the Great Work of our time.
From the Fixed Air perspective of a space station, we witness: The village or the wild; warming or not so much; civilized to death or not civilized enough; mask or no mask; meat or no meat; blue or red; black or white; hit the streets or stay at home; astrology or astronomy; traditional or modern techniques, conscious or unconscious; bitcoiner or no-coiner; the Aquarian Age: good or bad? And so it goes, on and on and on…
Whatever happened to tolerance? A genuine interest in a good conversation or debate? Inviting the “opposition” over for dinner to have a long chat over good tea to polish out the ideas between us. Whatever happened to an interest in the middle road, a fulcrum, the path between peaks that Parzival walks? Will we see it within the wings of this next Jupiter/Saturn Air Triplicity? Only time will tell it true.
Honestly, it’s up to each of us as individuals. Can we hold more than one truth at the same time? Can we tolerate the opposition? Better: Can we love them, like we love our lot. There’s the work of the Aquarian Age. The Union of Opposites. A true integration of the Shadow materials.
