On the Solar Eclipse in Gemini

Art by Morgan Delt

So, here we are. A day away from stepping out of this dragon hole (eclipse window) and two days from the start of another Mercury Cycle. The question we should be asking is one of understanding why our plot has twisted in the way it has over the past couple of weeks. Naturally, it will have affected us all by different degrees, but especially for my fellow Gemini’s out there, I would wager you have been seeing the giant shadow of a dragon flying overhead (or a UFO) and a stick may have been thrown in your spokes as you tried to ride away. Also, it’s not just Gemini’s being influenced, all mutable signs have been primarily affected as well. Locate these coordinates in yourself, constellate your psyche through your inquiry. Having your chart is helpful.

There are two quotes from the legend Tom Robbins that can help with context and capitulation for us moving forward in this hermetic maze littered with dragon scat.

The first: We’re our own dragons as well as our own heroes, and we have to rescue ourselves from ourselves.

…it’s not to say dragons aren’t real, it’s more to illustrate one of their most powerful manifestations. The treasure we seek has little to do with our external battles. It’s more likely nestled safely near the golden core of our hearts. Which leads to the next:

“Disbelief in magic can force a poor soul into believing in government and business.”

…this is one to live by. I think we can add social media and parts of religion as well. Magic is a human drive. We are all driven to be magicians. It’s so basic. Perhaps it’s why we pray. It’s definitely why we fill our time cavities with stories told on Netflix or found within the news cycle. We are masters of both distraction and deception. It’s a strain of magic we must be wary of. Dangerous business. In the end, magic doesn’t require belief really at all. Just a knowing. A nod and a smile. A willingness to engage once again with the wild gods.

Whatever the theme has been for you since the convergence of these two Gemini-infused themes, something magical should soon be leaping out of the hedgerow to greet you. Do you have the eyes to see it though? The ears to hear it? The mind to actually receive it? Sit with all of this during the eclipse tomorrow. Tune your ear to Hermes as well. He’s teaching while laughing with all his insufferable tricks.

We must remember we are the hero, the dragon, and the storyteller. No matter how dark it gets, there always comes the redeeming chapter. Bookmark that page. It’s a good one to always revisit to remember the structure of our stories.

Enjoy it all.
