Mercury, the often overlooked planet, that is until he is close and retrograde, has a lot to teach us these days. Currently traveling on the other side of the Sun, experiencing cazimi yesterday and combustion for the next week, many of the wings attached to the ideas which have spawned since the beginning of the cycle ( Pisces in late February ) are being incinerated in the rays of the Sun’s undying bullshit meter. If you have an open enough mind to try to get your information from more than one source, you are painfully aware of all the conflicting opinions flying around the noosphere. I have never experienced a more confusing time. Such is Pisces. Yet, through Mercury’s wily eyes, there is sense to be made.

Anais Nin, a legendary writer had Mercury conjunct Saturn in Aquarius. A signature that reveals her pact with the Magi for making a long-lasting impact from the fringes. She once said, “We don’t see things as they are; we see them as we are.” So no matter how convicted you are about what is happening, it is good to remember these ideas are being filtered through your own frustration, your own fear, and your own brilliant little genius. It’s all relative.

In my own experience, I always default to Hermes as my source of valid information. What I know, is that this cycle of his we are in began far enough from Neptune to think we are free but close enough to be caught in the riptide if we aren’t careful. You only need a tincture drop of Astrology to know this to be fishy. Enter the wildest conspiracy theories you’ve ever heard and the daily news cycle writ on water. From a more metaphysical perspective, Pisces also corresponds to our relationship with the Unknown. Sometimes, it’s important to default to forces much greater than what we read on the internet, and completely bow down and surrender to them. They don’t need a name. Just call it Nature.

It doesn’t matter if this was created in Wuhan, what matters is that it exists. It doesn’t matter if you think you are healthy enough to survive it, you may not and you may also accidentally kill those around you. It doesn’t matter what you think really, because we are dealing with a trickster that has changed the world in half a Mercury cycle. Now, I’m well aware the Boneyard (that powwow in Capricorn) set the scene, yet it’s Mercury that delivered the message.

When we stare out to the sea, that feeling of awe gets us close to Pisces. When we escape the city to look up, the same sensation washes over us. We when contemplate the rise and fall of civilizations, we don’t think it can happen to us. How short-sighted. Everything is cyclical. Egyptian civilization spanned at least 4,000 years, the Roman one much shorter, and everything since exponentially shorter still. To think life is going back to “normal” makes Hermes keel over with laughter. According to him, this is the beginning of a Great Turning. The cazimi did happen in Taurus yesterday. Something hieroglyphic has been etched in this fast rolling stone.

And so, as he speeds through the heart of the Sun, feathers ablaze, so to do our ideas. Many will not make it. It seems the great teaching of the cycle is one of Trust. You aren’t going to find any of that on the news, no government, not even amongst many of your peers. You will find it in a God though. I have learned to trust Mercury. He has never given me a reason not to.

Just ask the Magi! You will love the answers.
