Mars & The Long Road

Today, Mars stations direct!

Turning around at 15º plus Aries, his weary legs have until 28º until the ghost is clear. That will occur on January 2nd. It is called the post-shadow phase and may have some of us holding back our excitement, saying, “It’s not over yet; “ “It still needs to square the Boneyard (the Capricorn planets); “ “And there remains the conjunction with Uranus on the other side.” To this, I say: Good! Such a long way to go. Good, good, good.

One of the least savory elements of Astrology is the fear it can instill in us. It’s not actually Astrology’s fault though, but our own. When we project onto a planet, thinking it will cause ill fate, we have lost our way with it. Every movement in the heavens is a reflected action in our souls. The concept of soul is important to get right here: to not think of it inside of us, but instead, we are ensouled in it. That yes, above and below, but also all at once. Every change up there is change everywhere, which is also an opportunity to be claimed by more soul. Everything has soul, even Mars. That is: When Mars stations direct on Friday the 13th in the midst of a global pandemic and the world waits for the Red King to break his defeated silence to reveal his next uninitiated move, we look within to track the prints and the scent of iron straight to the bloody heart of where our battle is taking place. When we do this, we are tracking the soul of Mars. It’s never ‘out there’ in the way we think it is. It’s everywhere, especially within.

And so, from now until the New Years’ hangover is faded, we are still in the same terrain we’ve been in since late July (pre-shadow). Such a long time to go: Good! Work to be done. Training to tend to. Battles to be won. And when the demons of defeat or lethargy whisper their cold lies into our ears, telling us to quit, that’s it’s over, hold the line like the warrior you are by telling them, “NO! It’s not over.” Such a long way to go. Good. Can’t wait. So much more to be done. What’s next? So excited.

The fire is still lit beneath the alembic. The triangle glows upwards. We are being purified, and…there is such a long way to go. It’s rarely a good time to quit.
