No Laughs
On the Scorpio New Moon opposite Uranus
There is always, to some degree, a discordance between our inner selves and the outer world. Myriad forms of conflict and chasms of misunderstandings. We do our best with language, yet it’s often a strain to find the words. We attempt to remedy some of the discrepancies with humor, yet that too often misses the mark. The intensity of what has been building up inside us has reached its capacity. For some, they have become saturated with resentment, unable to laugh-especially at themselves. And to bring in the wisdom of the ever great Maya Angelou, she once stated, “I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t laugh.” That’s Scorpio wisdom.
As I write this there is a New Moon overhead. It’s at 12º40' Scorpio and is exactly opposite Uranus. We can’t see any of it, but I’m sure many of you can feel it. The lifelong desire to break free, to individuate, to live your Truth may have you eager to step out of line-the line being the one they are telling us to stand in. In a world where even comedy is being threatened, we all should be on red alert. We should be doubling down on the jokes, because it is a joke, and so much is truly hilarious. Even the Chandra Symbol for this New Moon reads:
SCORPIO 13
Someone tells a joke and no one laughs.
…bombing. The closest thing I’ve experienced to it was in a teepee where we were all going around in a circle sharing jokes and when it got to me, I shared one of those terrible, macabre jokes we used to tell as kids. Silence. If I would have told it today, I would have been canceled, deleted, and forgotten.
To not trust someone who doesn’t laugh is a good measure of discernment with people. Rarely do we see those politicians laugh. Even rarer still, those wild-eyed “activists” trolling our feeds. No humor. No laughs. No trust from us.
What Uranus seems to be declaring for us this month is that we take that brave step forward, separating ourselves from the herd. Who cares what they think. They don’t think it’s funny, well, we are laughing. We must realize that laughter is unique to us humans. No other animals do it in the same way. Laughter transmutes taboo. Humor is a panacea for the dark. Hilarity is what we must find to make it through this mess.
Comedy has everything to do with Scorpio. That’s your homework for the month. Meditate and laugh on that.

Adam
