Origins of Rx
In Medieval times, a cipher used for Saturn (sometimes Jupiter) was Rx. Alchemists would draw it on slips of paper and have their patients eat it, believing it had a magical curative effect. This may be one of the most pervasive and stubborn sigils ever created. To this day, we see the Rx the whole world over in apothecaries, medicine shops, and of course our charts as well. It has also been said that it’s a watered-down version of the Eye of Horus. Whatever the true origin, all options are interesting to contemplate as we are now in the hold of the first Mercury Rx of 2021.
The Sun’s closest neighbor stationed on the 30th of January at 26º29' Aquarius. This fixed Air sign is the most populated area of the sky at the moment with Jupiter/Saturn/Sun/Athene and soon Venus all offering Ganymede a helping hand with that life-affirming jug. Hermes seems to have a revolution on his mind. Use the light from the display to see in new and inspired ways. Don’t fear a thing. If you are afraid or you have Covid, all you need to do is draw Rx on a slip of paper and shoot it down with your favorite drink.
