Sanctuary In Between

On the nature of oppositions

There are three significant oppositions gaining strength as I write this: Mars/Saturn, Venus/Pluto, and, of course, between the luminaries with the Full Moon today. This piece isn’t meant to be time sensitive, instead, a small exploration into the nature of polarity and what we may discover in the space between.

In RESCUING LIGHT, a compilation of quotes from Martin Precthel’s teachings, you will find this little treasure: “God lives in the force field of two opposing things.” Living in a world tense with polarities, it’s a worthy idea to turn around a few times in your head. It also speaks volumes on the nature of oppositions. Take the Full Moon for example; When they are the furthest apart, Soul and Spirit create an emotional surge of inspiration, lunacy, irrational emotion, and longing. Somewhere in the space between lives this ‘force field’ around where the tension is at its greatest, and in that space, something like ‘god’ can be witnessed. Or, at least, a resolution point.

Under this Full Moon light today, another opposition can be spotted between Venus and Pluto (Cancer/Capricorn as well). It’s a yearly face off that invites all fears to circulate around what we hold most dear. Sitting with the impermanence of our loves, seeing the dark veins pumping through our desires, and often stripping us of any certainty we may have thought we had around our assets. It’s a terrifying sensation when it strikes, yet in that field between the two, a rose blossoms, then wilts, and blossoms once again. An insight akin to what the Buddha may have seen under that Full Moon he woke up under.

And as far as the third, the ‘malefic’ showdown between Mars and Saturn, it is building up a palpable suspense. It won’t be exact until July 1st, but can still be clearly felt every time you think about the state of the world. If we see Saturn as the State, Mars as the heat and frustration rising all around it, you get a good idea of what is happening. There are myriad examples of the truth slowly seeping out (see: JRE with Dr Kory/Weinstein) and what we do with it will determine the result of this stand off. It can make us feel helpless, but it’s important to remember that we are not. We have more power than ever thanks to our capacity to spread information instantly with this digital mycelium we call the Internet. So, don’t despair, this is where it all gets interesting.

If sanctuary is ever to be found, both sides must be heard clearly. Silencing the opposition breeds demons. Canceling those who question just adds bombs to the fire. An opposition is truly a make it or break it moment. We make it with reconciling our differences; we break it with the refusal to entertain the other.

No matter where it falls in your chart, any of the three, this applies to you. It’s a universally compatible concept, eternal by nature; It’s just at the moment, these forces are pushing and pulling to extremes.

May you find sanctuary in the fields between the two, and join those who are free of the odious, one-sided debates.
