.: The Boneyard Choir:.
The Boneyard is the endearing name I gave the stellium in Capricorn many moons ago. Pluto is King, Jupiter and Saturn his henchmen, and Athene the watcher at the gate (there was also a dragon and a hero involved at the beginning of the year; they have moved on, but not completely). Today, Mars revisits his old friends, making the first of three squares to the skeleton crew. The first ‘uncomfortable’ encounter? Jupiter.
Apparently, Mars coming close, going retrograde isn’t enough. The Gods seem to have a strong purpose with their agenda in this chapter of our lives. The nature of a square at first glance is unmoving. A square doesn’t roll like a circle or flow like a triangle. It requires compromise and lots of sandpaper to smooth out the edges of difference.
Jupiter in Capricorn says, “Be patient, I’m creating a dream. I’m trying to show you the long game, but I’m not even clear what that looks like anymore.”
Mars in Aries responds, “I don’t have time for this. I want it all back to ‘normal’ yesterday. F*ck your masks and f*ck your agenda. It’s time for the streets.”
Naturally, it’s more complicated than this. The two are working on all of us differently.
In a recent class with all my students, we were playing around with Sabian Symbols and one of my students thought it would be a fun experiment to create a story with all the Sabians in the chart. Now, I’m not going to do that here, but I will try with the Sabian degrees for Mars and Jupiter to see if there is any resonance to be found.
The symbol for the 20th degree of Capricorn (Jupiter) is: A hidden choir singing
The one for 20 Aries (Mars): A young girl feeding birds
Once upon a wyrd time, a young girl wandered into the Boneyard. If she was asked why, she may have said, “I was following a ghost.” Or maybe, “It was a little bird who told me.” Whoever the messenger was, she made it there and found a broken bird feeder on the ground. Filling her pockets with all the seeds, she began tossing them into the air, praying that all the birds would come to eat them. And they did. First came the crows, then the pigeons, and the rest of the feathered lot swiftly followed. In her glee, she began to hear singing. It was the most beautiful choir of voices, yet she couldn’t see where it was coming from. She thought they must be angels. Definitely angels. So, she began singing with them. And the birds chirped in as well. All in a few short moments the Boneyard turned into a musical composed of birds, humans, and the unseen. It was a sight for weary eyes and medicine for news-damaged ears. It was divine.
The end.
Now, there is a lesson in this thought experiment. One that will distill differently for each of us. But it’s in there none-the-less. Locate the two in your chart. Ask Mars what action is needed; Ask Jupiter what is actually real? Listen closely. And, of course, pay attention to your dreams as well. This war dance between them is a constant presence until early 2021. It’s up to us with how it all turns out.
Be fearless and play with it.
* I did Podcasts on all the voices coming from the Boneyard. If you would like to listen to the Jupiter one, you can do so HERE:
