(On the Dark Moon, Jupiter, and Venus)
To start, risking a Dylan cliché, but to say it to get it out of my head: We don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. As we turn towards the next chapter of this eternal drama we are in, we can immediately see there is a lot to track in the days ahead. Seen from the darkness of this Taurus New Moon, Jupiter can be spotted eyeing mermaids as he prepares to splash into Pisces on the 13th of May, and Venus is just getting started with her ascent towards her throne in the evening sky. There is a sea change happening. But again, we don’t need a weatherman or an astrologer to predict where the wind is blowing.
The whole world is slowly opening up. For those vaccinated, they feel immune; for those not, they feel similar, yet the dialogue between the two is tense. We are all surprised by who is going with it, who isn’t, and we are worried about what permissions will be granted for both sides moving forward. The implications are vast and I’m not going to pretend to know how this plays out. But what is certain is that it is part of the next chapter.
The Chandra Symbol for this lunation is: A blindfolded woman who sees the future (22º Taurus). It’s an underrated intelligence she possesses, one we all intuit is better than the news. It’s a radar beneath the skin, one which pulls in information from places other than the head. We don’t need eyes to see it. It is felt. It is known in our bones. An earthen wit. And we need to learn to track it, then trust it once we’ve got it. If we do, we won’t get lost with the others.
Jupiter is about to dip into Pisces for a bit as well. It happens every 12 years. He likes it here. It’s home. But it doesn’t mean it’s good or bad. With Neptune pulling the tides in this territory for the past decade, Jupiter will have to abide by the collective current that is already churning. If Jupiter’s primary function is to connect us to culture, to awaken our unique role to play in its creation, what does this mean sailing forward? There are requirements to participate these days. Lots of new rules to learn and to live by if we are to stay afloat. The combination of the co-rulers of Pisces in the coming months will definitely create some massive swells in our lives.
And then there is Venus; She is finally emerging from her journey in the underneath, having reclaimed what she may have lost along the way. Currently working out the binaries in Gemini, it’s in this phase of the cycle when we usually get clear about how we should be spending our time and energy. The implications are vast. Being that she rules today’s New Moon, perhaps we could see her as this blindfolded prophet. She is guided by her heart, not her head. She understands what she needs now. No second-guessing.
Our job?
…to find them all inside. To translate these stories into our own lives. If we can pull this off, only contentment will remain. We won’t know enough to worry. We won’t need a weatherman to tell us what’s coming in the breeze. We will know just enough to let go and to watch Jupiter make a fool of himself with those mermaids by the pool.
