.: Within the Flames :.
In the great work that is alchemy, fire does the work, fire is the process, fire is the medium, and fire finds the gold. Nothing happens without fire or without desire. Nothing melts. Nothing evaporates or circulates. And it may seem it leaves nothing behind, yet everything stirs in the ashes. Fire is passion and the light of creation.
Virus aside, 2020 has been a year of unmanageable fire. It began in Oz and has continued to rage across the world. Naturally, this is mirrored in the heavens. At the moment, Mars is retrograde in Aries being watched closely by Chiron across the flames, Venus is in Leo holding a banner aflame, and Ketu (south node) is in Sagittarius reminiscing on old times around the fire when stories were kindling and our spirits were freer to travel with the breeze. When three or more planets occupy the 3 Modes of an Element, a Grand Trine begins to come into focus. This one is made of fire.
To understand this triforce it’s important to understand the elemental confluence. Fire feeds fire. Just as with water, earth, and air, when planets align in the same element, there is momentum. Aries is the spark, Leo the flame contained, and Sag the torch or ember we walk with. With an ember, we can start a fire wherever we go. Said another way: Aries helps us to discover ourselves, Leo to share what we’ve discovered, and Sag reveals the path we never knew was there, yet intuited our whole lives.
Focusing on Venus, she is burning bright in the morning sky, crossing the ecliptic today, and applying into a perfect trine with Mars and Ketu in the coming days. A build-up. A gathering of more tinder. Clarity of what it is we want to share and hopefully how to do it. In the 3rd decan of Leo (22 Leo) she is becoming deeply intimate with the terrain she’s in. In some ways, she has become the fire and is reaching towards the stars while her feet become one with the ground she walks on. Healthy pride is available here, as well as furious banners and territorial pissings. With the heart as a compass, hopefully, the latter is completely avoided.
I see and I’m beginning to feel this to be a minor golden lining to the horror story we are in; a brief, yet essential moment to remember exactly who we are, what we are here to share and to trust the future steps will reveal themselves. When we place our trust in the Goddess, life sprouts from the most surprising places.
